Granted the opportunity to photograph the solitary workout of an aspiring ballet artist who also happened to have been a friend during grades 2-8, was quite enlightening. The love of the craft, the discipline in the loneliness, the expression of self through movement...I felt that after two hours of watching her heart lived out in movement, I better understood her reactions to home life, relationship choices and her role as a woman artist.
